Tullahoma City Schools has announced that Sarah McVey has been named the district’s new Fine Arts Coordinator. McVey is the music teacher at Bel-Aire Elementary School and has been in that role since 2018.
“I am so very excited to continue the tradition of excellent fine arts leadership in Tullahoma City Schools,” McVey said. “Our district boasts some of the finest arts educators in the state of Tennessee. I am so proud to be able to help steer our programs in the right direction and provide support to each of these fabulous educators.”
Prior to joining TCS, she spent three years as an adjunct music professor at Motlow State Community College in McMinnville. She also spent three years as the music and library teacher at Covenant Academy, where she taught music to kindergarten through 12th-grade students. Before that, she spent a year as the elementary music teacher at Hickory Creek Elementary and West Elementary Schools and three years as band director at Dibrell, Centertown, Eastside and Morrison elementary schools.
“Sarah has tremendous experience and background as both an instrumental music major and a general music and choral educator,” said TCS Director of Schools, Dr. Catherine Stephens. “She has taught band, general music and choir and has experience at all levels – elementary, middle and high. This experience will help her as she takes on this role as Fine Arts Coordinator.”
