The Hands-On Science Center is prepping for a big celebration this weekend as it will host its 34^th annual birthday bash.

The event, sponsored by Ascend Federal Credit Union, will take place on Aug. 17 and 18 with two days filled with various family friendly activities to celebrate the science center signing its charter 34 years ago.

The first birthday bash will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the science center’s campus, located at 101 Mitchell Blvd., while the second day will go from noon to 4 p.m. Admission will be $6 for admission during 9 a.m. to noon and $4 for the rest of the day and for Saturday. Children ages two and under will receive free admission to both days.

Activities included with admission are bounce houses, sponsored by Master of Ceremonies, face painting, hotdog meals, science shows, games and crafts and more.

“All activities are included in the price of admission, so come out and enjoy a day of fun, food and festivities with the whole family,” HOSC officials said. “We can’t wait to celebrate with you!”
