Sunrise Rotary shoots for a good cause

Tullahoma Sunrise Rotary’s biggest annual fundraiser, Hot Shots, is fast approaching. The event will be on Saturday, Sept. 7 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Templar Shooting Sports in Tullahoma.

Hot Shots is a shooting competition and is open to the public. Any handgun, any caliber is eligible for the contest. Contestants will shoot from 7, 10, 15, and 25 yards. They will fire 10 rounds from 7, 10, and 15 yards and 20 rounds from 25 yards. All shooting will be from a standing position. A rangemaster will be present at all times to assist and oversee contestants.

Prizes awarded to the top scores are 1st place $200, 2nd place $100, and 3rd place $50. Proceeds from the event benefit Sunrise Rotary’s Creating Educational Opportunities (CEO) partner, East Lincoln Elementary School in Tullahoma.

Tickets for the event are $25 and may be purchased prior to the event by contacting Alan Harris at 931-581-7334. Tickets will also be available the day of the event at Templar Shooting Sports, 1101 South Jackson Street, Tullahoma.
