Tullahoma sweeps Shelbyville

The Tullahoma High School volleyball team hosted Shelbyville Central and won 25-21, 25-8, 25-13.

The Lady Wildcats were led by senior Isabella Lidstrom with 15 kills, one ace, five digs and one assist. Gabriella DeCosta had nine kills, Emily Bell had eight, Adalyn Nelson had four, Jada Spry and Avanley Metcalf had two while Madalin Lidstrom, Maggie Lynch and Gabbi Gardner had one. The Lady ‘Cats had 11 aces, with Olivia Spencer having four. Nelson and Lynch had two. Spry, Taylor Brinkley and Isabella Lidstrom had one. Tullahoma had one block, split between Nelson and DaCosta. Spencer had 27 of the team’s 71 digs. Spry and Aubrey North had eight. Brinkley had seven. Isabella Lidstrom had five. Lynch and DaCosta had four. Madalin Lidstrom had three.  Bell and Nelson had a pair while Metcalf had one. Spry led the team with 17 assists, averaging nearly six a set. Brinkley had 15 for an average of five per set. Spencer had three assists while Isabella Lidstrom, DaCosta and North had one.

Tullahoma fell in their next match at Forrest 25-23, 18-25, 23-25, 25-19 and 13-15. I. Lidstrom led the team in kills again with 12. Bell, DaCosta and Nelson had nine each. Metcalf had six, Gardner had five and both Spry and Brinkley had one. Brinkley led the team with five aces. Spry was right behind her with four. Spencer had a pair and I. Lidstrom had one. The Lady Wildcats had four blocks. Gardner assisted on three, Metcalf assisted on two while Bell, Nelson and DaCosta assisted on one. Tullahoma racked up 94 digs, led by Spencer with 21. Spry, I. Lidstrom, North and Brinkley all had more than 10. Spry had 18, North with 15, I. Lidstrom with 13 and Bell with 12. Nelson, Lynch and DaCosta had four. Metcalf, Bell and Gardner had one each. Spry led the team with 18 assists. Brinkley had 17 assists. Spencer had eight and North had three.

Tullahoma played at Columbia yesterday but the results were unavailable at the time of print. They play at Moore County tonight at 6 p.m. Then travel to Winchester Thursday for their fourth match of the week. The next home match is Sep. 3 against Lincoln County at 6 p.m.
