Lady Wildcats drop district match

The Tullahoma High School volleyball team traveled to Spring Hill and lost 21-25, 19-25, 14-25.

The loss makes Tullahoma 3-6 on the season and 1-5 in district play. They have lost their last four district games and five of the last six matches in total.

The full stats from the Spring Hill match were unavailable at the time of print. Prior to the match at Spring Hill the Lady ‘Cats hosted Lincoln County and lost 22-25, 25-14, 20-25, 25-27.

In the contest against the Lady Falcons, Isabella Lidstrom led the team with 14 kills. No other Wildcats had double-digit kills. Freshman Emily Bell and sophomore Madalin Lidstrom had five each tied for second most. Gabriella DaCosta and Jada Spry had four. Adalyn Nelson and Olivia Spencer had a pair each, while Aubrey North and Avanley Metcalf had one. I. Lidstrom also led the team in aces with three. Spry had two. Spencer and DaCosta had one. Tullahoma was a force at the net defensively with seven team blocks. Bell and DaCosta each had a solo block. Nelson led the team in assisted blocks with four. Bell had three, I. Lidstrom had a pair and Metcalf had one. The team racked up digs averaging 22.5 per set. Spencer led the way with 29. Maggie Lynch had 11, DaCosta had nine and North had eight. Spry, Taylor Brinley and Nelson each had six digs. Gabbi Gardner had five. Bell, M. Lidstrom and Metcalf had three apiece. I. Lidstrom had one, giving every Lady Wildcats a dig in the match. 

Spry led Tullahoma with 14 of the 26 assists. Brinkley had another chunk of the team’s assists with seven. Spencer had a pair, while North, Nelson and DaCosta had one. The match prior was last week when the team went to Lawrence County and lost 22-25, 15-25, 26-28. The team only recorded 31 kills and did not have a single player in double-digits. I. Lidstrom led the way with eight. Spencer, Nelson and DaCosta had four each. Gardner, Bell and Metcalf had three. Spry had the other two. Three Lady ‘Cats evenly split the team’s six aces; Spry, Brinkley and Nelson. Tullahoma had three blocks. Bell and Metcalf had a solo block. Metcalf and I. Lidstrom combined for the other block. Spencer recorded 26 digs, averaging nearly nine a set. Brinkley had 13. Spry was the highest Wildcat in single digits with eight. North had six, Lynch and DaCosta had four. I. Lidstrom had three, Metcalf had a pair, while Gardner and Nelson had one. Brinkley had 11 assists and Spry had nine to combine for three-fourths of the teams assists. Spencer had four. Gardner, Bell and Lynch had one.

The Lady Wildcats will host Fayetteville on Monday to kick off a three home match week. The contest will start at 6 p.m. Then on Tuesday the Lady Rebels from Franklin county come to town for a matchup at 6 p.m. On Thursday the Lady Raiders from Manchester will be looking to beat the Lady ‘Cats for the second time this season at 6 p.m.
