While the 68^th Christmas Parade is months away, the deadline to submit nominations for this year’s Grand Marshal has been extended to later this month.

“Public nominations are being accepted for Grand Marshal for the 68^th Annual Tullahoma Christmas Parade, sponsored by Stan McNabb Automotive,” Tullahoma Area Chamber of Commerce officials said. To be considered, nominations must be submitted by Sunday, Sept. 29, at midnight.”

Per the chamber, nominees for Grand Marshal will be selected based on contributions to the quality of life in the Tullahoma area, through civic and social services; humanitarianism; personal achievements in the areas of the arts, sports, etc.; or based on the distinction that they have brought to Tullahoma resulting from achievements elsewhere. Nominees should also be a current or long-term past resident of the Tullahoma area. Once selected, the Grand Marshal will be honored with a reception on Thursday, Dec. 5, hosted at and sponsored by South Jackson Performing Arts Center.

The 68th annual Christmas parade is set for the traditional first Friday in December, which will be Dec. 6 this year, and the theme will be selected by a Tullahoma City Schools student. In August, Santa Claus visited each elementary school to pick up the hundreds of theme submitted by students. The theme for the parade will be announced at a later date.
