‘Cats Cross Country runners medal at Henry Horton

The Tullahoma High School and Middle School cross country teams competed at the Henry Horton State Park Meet.

The THS girls’ team had two medalists. Katie Grace Nichols and Julianna Ites. Nichols finished in eighth with a time of 22 minutes and 39 seconds. Ites placed 12 with a time of 23:45. Lukas Price medaled for the THS boys’ team, placing at 12 in 18:39. Lincoln Bitton and Ashleigh Johnson were the TMS medalists. Bitton in second with a time of 14:10 and Johnson in third at 15:42.

The TMS teams had four more runners finish in the top 25. Claire Hyden finished at 10, Natalie Davis at 15 and Hannah Eakin at 25. Jeffery LopezShrum placed 18.

The finishes for the rest of the middle school Lady Wildcats were: Kahmya Dixon at 46, Rose Duval at 51, Eden Marsh at 67 and Phoenix Fisher at 72. For the Wildcats Jameson Szemodis finished at 50, Owen Sohrabi at 61, Brooks Bennett at 71, Seth Lynch at 88, Kai Hayashi at 108 and Izayiah Johnson at 123.

The other finishes for the high school ‘Cats were: Jackson Ites at 32, Everett Tinsley at 62, Kelly Mizell at 90, Andrew Carmack at 96, Wyatt Dorswett at 98, Kurt Tipps at 116 and Jace Fisher at 145. The other three Lady Wildcats finishes were Bella Rivera at 33, Audrey Sohrabi at 53 and Kailyn Hasty at 82.

The high school teams’ next meet is the Sanders Ferry Park Midweek Meet on Oct. 1, while the middle school teams will be competing in the TMSAA Cross Country class AA Area 11 meet on Thursday.
