The Tullahoma Police Department will be partnering with other local agencies as the fourth annual National Night Out returns to Tullahoma Tuesday, Oct. 1.

The event will be held at Frazier McEwen Park Tuesday, Oct. 1, from 5 – 7 p.m. and will be joined by members of the local first responders that cover the area, as well as local community partners.

The National Night Out is a national community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships. The event provides an opportunity for first responders, community partners, and residents to come together and make our community a safer, more caring place to live.

“National Night Out is an excellent program that helps our department build relationships with neighbors and create a safer community,” TPD officials said. “We hope to see everyone at this year’s National Night Out.”

Joining the police department for National Night Out will be the Tullahoma Fire Department, Tennessee Highway Patrol, Coffee County Sheriff’s Office, Manchester Police Department, Moore County Sheriff’s Office, Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Coffee County EMS, Tullahoma Animal Control, AEDC Department of Defense Police Department, the Tennessee Department of Agriculture’s Smoky the Bear and other partnering agencies.

National Night Out will also feature several community partners, which include Tullahoma Lions Club, Tullahoma Walmart, Coca Cola, Blood Assurance, Coffee County Lannom Library, United Way of Highway 55, Health Connect America, The Farmyard Market, Paige-York-Face Painting and so on.

According to the National Association of Town Watch, during its 41 years of National Night Out, 38 million neighbors take part in National Night Out across 17 thousand communities in all 50 states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide on the first Tuesday in August (Texas and select areas celebrate on the first Tuesday in October).

For Tennessee, 34 cities and communities participate in National Night Out including Chattanooga, Knoxville, Nashville, Shelbyville, Tullahoma and Woodbury.
