Tullahoma sweeps Moore County on senior night

The Tullahoma High School volleyball team beat Moore County in the last home game of the season 25-6, 25-7, 25-10.

Prior to the game the team honored their three seniors; Jada Spry, Isabella Lidstrom and Olivia Spencer. Spry’s stats on the season are 49 kills, 55 aces, 5 block assists, 230 digs and 468 assists. Lidstrom’s senior stats are 302 kills, 38 aces, 13 solo blocks, 11 block assists, 188 digs and 10 assists. Spencer’s season stats are 28 kills, 60 aces, 363 digs and 74 assists.

Lidstrom had 16 kills in the senior night contest. Adalyn Nelson had nine, Emily Bell had four, Gabriella DaCosta had two, while Spencer and Avanley Metcalf had one. Lidstrom also led the team in aces with seven. Spencer had five, Spry had three and Maggie Lynch had a pair. The team had five blocks, led by Bell with three solo blocks and one assisted block. Nelson helped Bell with the assisted block, while Metcalf had a solo block. Spencer led the team with 15 digs, no other Lady Wildcat had double-digit digs, Spry was the closest with nine, then Lidstrom with eight. Lynch tallied six, DaCosta had three, Nelson and Metcalf had two while Genia Stephens had one. Spry racked up the assisted, having 28 of the team’s 33. Spencer had four and Lidstrom had the other one. 

Tullahoma dropped the two games before senior night in the fifth set. The first to Lincoln County 25-9, 26-24, 19-25, 16-25, 13-15. Lidstrom led the way in kills with 16. Bell had nine, Nelson had four, Spry and Metcalf with three, Stephens had two and DaCosta had one. Stephens topped the team stat sheet with five aces, followed by Lidstrom with three. Then DaCosta and Spry with two, while Lynch had one. Lidstrom had a solo and assisted block. Bell, Nelson and DaCosta also had block assists. The Lady ‘Cats racked up 96 digs during the five sets. Spry led the team with 21. Stephens and Nelson had 15, followed by DaCosta with 13 and Metcalf with 11. Lidstrom had nine, Lynch had eight and Bell had four. Spry also led the team in assists with 26. Stephens had five, Nelson had two and Bell had one.

The night before senior night, the Lady Wildcats hosted district leading Spring Hill and gave them a run for their money. Tullahoma won the first set 25-21, before dropping the next two sets 10-25, 17-25. Then they won the fourth set 28-26 forcing a tiebreaking fifth set, the Lady ‘Cats fell 7-15 in the final set.

Lidstrom racked up 27 kills, no other Wildcats reached double-digits. Spry led the team with three aces, Spencer and DaCosta added in two each. Lynch also had one. The team had five blocks. Nelson had the only solo block. Bell assisted on four, Spry helped on three and Metcalf assisted one. The Lady ‘Cats had 99 team digs. Spencer had 21 and Lidstrom had 20 leading Tullahoma. Spry had 17 and Lynch had 14 as the other two players in double figures. Stephens and Nelson both had eight, Metcalf had five, Bell had four and DaCosta had two. Tullahoma had more assists than their opponents with 42, led by Spry with 36. Spencer had three, while Bell, Lynch and DaCosta had one.

The Lady Wildcats ended the season with a sweep of Franklin County 25-15, 25-11, 25-14. Lidstrom led the team with 14 kills. Spencer led in aces with five. Bell had the team’s only block. Lidstrom had 15 digs, Spry had 14 and Spencer had 13 as the only ‘Cats above 10. Spry led the team with 29 of 39 assists.
