‘Rocky Horror’ returns to South Jackson

It’s time to put on the fishnets and do the time warp the cult classic “The Rocky Horror Show” is set to take the stage at South Jackson this weekend.

South Jackson Performing Arts Center and Community Playhouse will present Richard O’Brien’s  “The Rocky Horror Show” Oct. 18 and 19 with an 8 p.m. and midnight showing for both nights.

Tickets are $30 for adults and $28 for students for each showing and can be purchased at the box office or by visiting southjackson.org.

“The Rocky Horror Show” is a musical comedy horror, with music, book and lyrics by O’Brien, that tells the story of sweethearts Brad and Janet, who get stuck with a flat tire during a storm, and find the mansion of Dr. Frank N. Furter and his motley crew wild characters.

South Jackson officials said the show will be rated R so no one under the age of 18 is allowed without being accompanied by an adult.

Those attending are welcomed to come dressed as their favorite character, fishnets, stilettos and all.

There will be prop bags available to purchase in the theatre. No outside food or drinks are allowed to be brought into the building.

The Cast

South Jackson revealed the cast of “The Rocky Horror Show” in August on social media.

The cast includes: Ryan Clanton as Dr. Frank N. Furter; Aaron Gaines as Brad Majors; Jachlyne Dobbs as Janet Weiss; Erik Petersen as Riff Raff; Maven Robinson as Magenta; Tucker Johnson as Rocky Horror; Jon Rubke as Dr. Everett Scott; Talia Dillard as Columbia; Ethan Morgan as Eddie; Zac Collins as the Narrator; Kendyn Brock and Janette King as Usherette; Selah Buchanan, Evelyn Champion, Keith Cornelius, Angie Dominguez-Smith, Baylee Farris, Genevieve Garner, Ty Grabovich, Nicholas Gressel, Sylvie Hare, Dale Hoffman, Andrea Houser, Madison Hutchins, Ashlyn Jarman, Hope Ketron, Shellene M. Kent, Ren Martell, Crystal McCullough, Mason McDonald, Scott Miller, Jae Pearson, Brianna Pence, Savannah Romero, Susan Rubke, Leah Swarts, Robin Throneberry, Alex Torrejon, Madiey Trail, Bread Warren, Nicole Whitt and Hayden Williams as the Phantoms.

The production team consists of Erica Petersen as the Director; Alex Baldwin as the Music Director; Gianna Afflerbaugh as the choreographer; Lisa Wiley as the Stage Manager; Beth Thames as the set designer; and Erik Petersen as the tech director.
