Tullahoma enjoys bye week

The Tullahoma High School football team had their one bye week this past week with just three games left.
At this point in the season the Wildcats are 4-3 with a 3-1 region split. The ‘Cats are third in the region, behind 4-0 Lincoln County, Tullahoma’s lone region loss, and 3-0 Shelbyville. Tullahoma will host Shelbyville to end the season. Lincoln and Shelbyville play each other the week before, so there is potential for a 3-way tie in first place.
Lucas Reed has led the ‘Cats passing game going 75 of 135 for 952 yards. He has thrown 10 touchdown with a longest completion for 65 yards. He has added 50 rushing yards on 17 carries and one touchdown. Reed went 10 of 17 for 132 and a touchdown at Lawrence County.
Marvancy Johnson has carried the load on the ground with 141 attempts for 949 yards. He has run for over 100 yards five times and broken 150 three times. Johnson has nine rushing touchdowns, scoring in every game except the first game of the year when he ran for 185 yards on 22 carries. He is averaging 6.7 yards a run and 135 yards a game. He has caught 9 passes for 76 yards. Johnson had 14 attempts for 98 yards and 2 touchdowns last week.
Khani Johnson has been the most targeted receiver for Tullahoma with 41 receptions for 516 yards. He has caught 4 of the team’s 10 receiving touchdowns. He has had a pair of 100 plus yard games receiving, He had 6 catches for 88 yards and a touchdown in the game before the bye week.
Alex Bobo is the other threat in the passing game for Tullahoma with 15 catches. He has 125 yards and 4 touchdowns. In the game at Franklin County he broke 100 yards for the only time this year. Will Hyden has caught the other 2 touchdowns for Tullahoma. Hyden has 3 receptions for 75 yards on the season.
The Wildcat defense is allowing just 20 points per game and 142 on the year. The most points allowed were the 42 to Lincoln County. They followed that up by shutting Columbia out. The offense is averaging 27 points per game with the high on the season 48 against Franklin County.
Tullahoma goes to McMinnville to face the 0-7 Pioneers. Warren County has only scored 14 points all season and have struggled to even move the ball. They have given up an average of 40 points per game. After this week the ‘Cats will host Spring Hill on Oct. 25 and then Shelbyville on Nov. 1 to wrap up the regular season.
