New library box dedicated at Damron’s

R

A new library box was dedicated on Tuesday outside of Damron’s Restaurant on East Lincoln Street. The box was provided by a joint effort of the Tullahoma chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), the Tennessee Valley Woodworkers, and Damron’s Restaurant, with books provided by the Bookshelf. Tuesday was the DAR’s National Day of Service.

Members of the DAR, Mayor Lynn Sebourn, Gloria Damron, and Vince Zaccardi with Tennessee Valey Woodworkers were on hand for the ribbon cutting.

Anyone may take a book from the box. They may bring it back when finished, swap it for another book, or even keep it if they wish. There is no charge for the books.

There are several other library boxes around Tullahoma. Some of the other locations include all of Tullahoma’s elementary schools, South Jackson Civic Center, the Fine Arts Center, Vanderbilt Tullahoma Harton Hospital waiting room, and Lewis Orr Realtors.

The boxes around the community have been sponsored by different civic groups and organizations, including Sunrise Rotary Club, the Girl Scouts, Tennessee Valley Woodworkers, and DAR. Books can be donated for the boxes by taking them to the Bookshelf.

The box is a joint effort by the Girl Scouts, the Literacy Council, and Sunrise Rotary Club.
