A local children’s book author has put out his latest book and has set a release event for Nov. 2 at South Jackson Performing Arts Center.

C. Rick Vella of Tullahoma has announced he will be signing his books at South Jackson this Saturday from 5-6 p.m. There will be refreshments and a giveaway.

His latest work, “Christmas Rose”, is a heartwarming, rhyming children’s tale set in the 1800s, brought to life with beautiful watercolor illustrations. Follow the story of Rose, a sweet little girl who has spent many Christmases in an orphanage, longing for a family of her own. On Christmas Eve, could her wish come true? Perfect for readers of all ages, this lyrical story of love, hope, and the magic of Christmas will warm your heart and remind you of the joy of belonging.

“Writing became my passion early on, so I chose to write stories for kids rather than adults,” Vella said. “Children are the perfect audience for creative stories, as their imaginations are boundless and it’s exciting to be able to see things from their perspective. Writing for children also gives me the chance to make them laugh or provide something they can relate to and that brings such joy to my heart.”
