With brutally cold temperatures already sweeping through the mid-state, the Tullahoma Winter Shelter schedule has been released with organizers revealing they are in big need of volunteers to work overnight shifts to supervise the potentially life-saving shelters from the cold.

The Tullahoma Winter Shelter Project provides emergency, safe, overnight shelter to community members experiencing homelessness during the harsh winter nights. The Project aims to foster a sense of community and provide food, resources, hygiene items, showers (for some church locations), clothing, and more.

According to organizer Tom Murdock, there will be need for volunteers to help this season when the shelters open just after Christmas. Anyone who would like to help in any capacity can contact Murdock at 931-455-2200 or via e-mail at tom@firstchristiantullahoma.org. Potential volunteers can also contact the individual churches where the shelters will be held.

Tullahoma Winter Shelters will be open Dec. 29 through March 1.
