Civic Choir prepares for 17th Christmas concert
The 17th annual Christmas concert of the Tullahoma Civic Choir will be Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church, located at 1901 Ovoca Road.
The choir was directed by Ann Baldwin for 15 of those years giving the group a wonderful foundation of musicality. The choir is now co-directed by Angela Miller and Michael Brown. Angela has a choral music degree from Vanderbilt University and Michael has been the worship pastor at Grace Baptist for 22 years. This year’s choir is made up of 55 singers from all around the community.
As always there will be some talented instrumentalists including the choir accompanist Adam Patrick Moore, pianist for Grace Baptist Church.
The concert will include traditional carols, spirituals and classics of Christmas. The final two songs will feature singers from East and West Middle School choirs one of which is “Let There Be Peace on Earth”. The reason for Christmas is Jesus who came to give us peace in our hearts and the world.
The Tullahoma Civic Choir is always sponsored by the Tullahoma Downtown Lions Club. Their service and patronage allows this concert to be a gift to the community. Doors open at 5:15 p.m. and all are invited to attend.
