This holiday season, the barrels that make up the iconic Barrel Trees will be sold for purchase. With all proceeds going to Operation Ride Home, it’s easier than ever to bring home a barrel and bring service members home for the holidays.

Operation Ride Home is a program designed to assist junior-enlisted service members and those with families travel from their military bases to homes around the country. Their mission is to raise as much money as possible to assist heroes with getting home.

With the help of the ASYMCA, they have eclipsed 13,000 of these heroes and their families that they helped with travel. They have raised more than $2 million for the life of the program and are still going strong.

The Jack Daniel’s Barrel Tree is a tradition that started in 2011 at the Jack Daniel Distillery. Now with multiple barrel tree locations around the country, the public has the opportunity to purchase one of the barrels from a Barrel Tree. As of Dec. 1, barrels from each tree will be available for purchase.

This year, people can find a Barrel Tree in Buffalo, Los Angeles, Lynchburg, Nashville, New Brunswick, New York City, San Antonio, San Francisco, DC, Tampa, and Oklahoma City. Sales end Dec. 31 at midnight (or when all barrels have been sold).

Each barrel is $200, with 100% of the proceeds going to the Armed Services YMCA to support the Jack Daniel’s Operation Ride Home program which helps bring our military home for the holidays.

Shipping is not included, barrels will need to be picked up on the designated date noted for every city. Pick up information can be found on the ASYMCA location sites. Barrel Dimensions are Width at top: 22″ – Width at Belly: 26-28″ (varies) – Height: 36″.

Since this sale benefits Jack Daniel’s Operation Ride Home, you will be able to deduct any amount paid that exceeds the value of the barrel – $75 per barrel is tax deductible.

The Barrel Shop in Lynchburg sells the retired barrels directly and through their online store here in the US: www.jackdaniels.com. Anyone can stop by in person to pick up a barrel, order one through the website for shipment anywhere in the US, or give them a call at 1-888-221-JACK.

Alcohol is not part of the purchase. Barrels are empty but people must be 21+ to purchase.

Anyone interested are reminded that they are purchasing a raw, unfinished barrel. The first 40 barrels sold were finished, and that number has already been reached. If anyone is looking for more finished barrels of the Lynchburg tree, they are for sale through Jack Daniel’s Hardware Store.
