Tullahoma’s Christina Petty qualifies for state in bowling

GRAY DEYOSports Writer

After making the cut in the individual district tournament, Lady Wildcat Christina Petty made the last cut to get to the high school bowling big show, as she qualified for the state tournament with a second-place finish in the Region 3 Individual State Qualifier. Petty’s second-place finish came out of 25 people competing. She scored a total of 1064 pins through the five games in which the top six competitors of the 25 qualified for state.

Petty was calm under the immense pressure in the fifth and final game, as she needed a score of 164 to qualify—-she rolled under that amount twice before with scores of 136 and 160. Petty proceeded to roll her highest score of the day with a 204. She will compete in the Individual State Tournament Jan. 22 in Smyrna.

Three other Wildcats were performing at regions along with Petty, as their impressive runs came to an end—Elizabeth Prater, Olivia Williams, and Hope Thomas.

This dynamic group of bowlers start their road to compete at the team state tournament on Dec.9, when they compete at the team district tournament.
