Triquetra Troupe performs at the Celtic Cup

The Triquetra Troupe returned again this year to the Celtic Cup Coffee House for their special holiday show. Basing their performance after Dickens “A Christmas Carol,” it is now their own “The Celtic Christmas Carol,” with added humor and plenty of Celtic music and dance. This is the third year they have performed their wildly popular show, which has grown from one show the first year to six performances this year. Of the six shows, two were free to the public, and four were special dinner shows.
The troupe is truly a family affair, comprised of parents Robert P. Sugg III and wife Tracy Sugg with their three children, Gregory Colt, Crimson Rose, and Robert P. IV. The family together handles all aspects of their shows, including choreography, costumes, scripts, props, music, scheduling, and performing.
The troupe has done shows in a number of other venues, including South Jackson Center for the Arts, Piping on the Green events, the Park Theater in McMinnville, Wartrace Baptist Church, and various other festivals. Other shows they have done include an All Saint’s Day Mystery show, Obscure Celtic Saints, and a Saint Patrick’s Day celebration.
Chris and Denise Smith, who own and operate the Celtic Cup Coffee House, provided the three course dinner of Irish cuisine. The menu included a salad of heritage greens with multigrain dinner roll, steak and ale pie with short crust topping, smashed potatoes with fresh garden herbs, and roasted winter vegetables. Dessert was a Christmas pudding with brandy cream sauce. Water and tea were served with the meal, and ale and ciders were also available.
Sunday’s dinner and show was the last of the season, a Celtic affair from top to bottom. Incredible food, the show scripted with good humor, beautiful music, and fascinating dance made for a warm and joyous evening, perfect for the season. This is one to watch for next year.
