Tullahoma finishes sixth at the Ray Dalton Invitational

After two rounds at the Ray Dalton invitational held at Brentwood Academy from Dec. 20-21, the Tullahoma wrestling team was tied for 1st in the competition. But when it was all said and done the Wildcat walked away finishing in sixth place.

The result was not the first-place finish the Wildcats had hoped upon walking into the gymnasium of the BA Eagles, but the sixth-place finish was still great considering that 40 High School teams were present for the event. Tullahoma had three of their wrestlers finish in the top five of their respective weight divisions at the event, showcasing just how elite this Wildcat team is. Robert Tatum finished third in the 285 weight division, Carson Avans finished fourth in the 213 division, and Corbin Avans finished in first place in the 157 division.

Corbin Avans’s first-place finish came from winning five straight matches at the event, three of which came by pins. He won his final match by a score of 11-3.

This team continues to show out in whatever gym they step foot in. They will look to continue their tread down an already impressive season when they take on Eagleville High School on Dec. 31.
