Coffee County well-represented at TN Fairest

The 103rd Annual Tennessee Fairest of the Fairs pageant was held on Friday evening at the Embassy Suites in Murfreesboro.

The 2024 Tennessee Fairest of the Fairs Miss Ryan Elizabeth Green, daughter of Greg and Mary Green out of Coffee County along with the reigning Coffee County Fairest of the Fair, Tullahoma resident Miss Megan Renee  Smith attended the three-day event hosted by the Tennessee Association of Fairs,

Smith is the daughter of Nathan and LaDonna Smith.  She attended Tullahoma High School and was a dual enrollment student earning her associates degree from Motlow State Community College while attending THS.

She graduated Middle Tennessee State University with her bachelor’s degree in May 2024. She is now studying at The University of Alabama in Huntsville College of Nursing Accelerated BSN Apprenticeship Program.

After registration and rehearsal Thursday the contestant attended a Queen’s “Lady in Red” themed party in honor of Miss Green Thursday evening, The 49 contestants participated in round robin type interviews Friday morning with those scores being a percentage of their final score, followed by a Fairest of the Fairs in review where each contestant introduced themselves to the fair convention delegates and received a certificate from the TAF president Blake Laws. In addition to the beauty and interview portion of the pageant the contestants were asked to write an essay and provide documentation of the humanitarian project they curated and completed. Smith’s love for community service began at a young age as a member of Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee Troop 2163. She continues to help out in the community by using her photography business Memories by Megan Photography to hold various fundraising events which served as her humanitarian project.

Contestants were also asked to decorate a high heel shoe showcasing their county fair’s theme for 2024. Coffee County’s theme was Small Towns – Big Hearts.

The three-day conference wrapped up Saturday evening with a Merit Awards banquet in which the Coffee County Fair Board received the 2024 Most Improved Fair award. The fair board was also awarded a 3rd place ribbon for the fairs scrapbook.

“Congratulations to the Tennessee Association of Fairs 2025 Fairest of the Fair and her court,” officials said in a statement.
