Special Olympics Area 13-Lower Cumberland held a swim meet on Sunday, Jan. 19 at D.W. Wilson Community Center.

Athletes included D’Angelo Brown, Paul Casteel, Holden Hatcher, and Carson Rogers.  Each athlete swam individually to showcase their skills for their fans.

Numerous volunteers helped with the event, but Bethany McKee and Becky Behrendorff were the heart of the meet, as they’ve been coaching athletes on Sunday afternoons for about a year to prepare them for competition.

Brandon Bradshaw of The Tullahoma Masonic Lodge presented a very generous donation prior to the meet.

Area 13 Lower Cumberland thanks the City of Tullahoma for sharing the facility for the practices and the meet.  The athletes and volunteers would also like to thank the Women’s Club of Tullahoma for a recent generous donation. 

Volunteers and athletes are looking forward to basketball at Motlow State Community College in late February and the large Track and Field event in April.
