Friends of the Library receives 2K grant
The Coffee County Friends of the Library recently was named as a recipient of a $2,000 grant from the Lillian Ashley Fund through the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. The award will be divided between Manchester Library and Lannom Memorial to support programming and services at both locations.
The grant was one of several recently awarded in Coffee County. Lillian Ashley, a Manchester native, created the endowment to benefit children, animals, the environment, and conservation efforts of Coffee County.
“As a fairly new non-profit, we are really appreciative of receiving this award,” said Friends of the Library Board Chair Kathy Rose. “Our libraries are local treasures. We are grateful to the Lillian Ashley Fund and the Community Foundation for recognizing their importance in our community.”
The Coffee County Board of Trustees was informed of the grant at a joint meeting of both boards in early January.
