The Hands-On Science Center (HOSC) has recently received a donation from DOT Foods that will go towards sponsoring campers for the science center’s spring upcoming science camps.
“We are thrilled to announce that DOT Foods is generously sponsoring 30 campers to attend the Hands-On Science Center’s ‘Camp Create and Innovate’, our signature summer camp program for 2025,” HOSC Executive Director Austin Sisco said.
As part of this new partnership, DOT Foods D.C. General Manager Anthony Soto and Administrative Clerk Scout Bryan hosted a tour of their new facility for Sisco and the HOSC Board. During the visit, attendees explored ways to connect real-world applications of STEM to DOT Foods’ operations.
“This collaboration marks an exciting step forward in our mission to expand STEM education in our region,” Sisco said. “By providing underserved children the opportunity to attend ‘Camp Create and Innovate’ at no cost, DOT Foods is helping to inspire the next generation of innovators.”
The science center is preparing for its upcoming Spring Break Science Camps, which are set for the weeks of March 17-21 and March 24-28. Camp hours will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day and there will be before and after care from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The cost of camps are $195 per week, and only 20 spots will be available per week.
