Christina Petty commits to Campbellsville University

Bowling and dancing Christina Petty can do it all. She made it official on Feb. 5 to compete on the lanes and continue her dancing career at the collegiate level at Campbellsville University.

Family members, teammates, and friends gathered in Tullahoma’s home gym to watch Petty make her college athletic decision official. Her hard work earned her that moment, as she is an outstanding dancer, and she put forth a season to remember on the Tullahoma bowling team.

Petty in bowling made it through three rounds of cuts to eventually earn a slot to compete at state, where she finished seventh overall. She also finished with the state-high score in a singular game with a 288, which was 41 pins higher than any other score at the competition.

“Without Christina next year, our girls’ bowling team will lose a key mental edge. When she stepped onto the lanes, everyone knew who she was and expected great performances from her. That presence alone made a difference,” head coach of the THS bowling team Derek Swiger said regarding what he will miss about having Petty on the team.

And although Petty will soon be over three hours away from Tullahoma, as she goes to Campbellsville University in Kentucky, her impact at THS in both bowling and dance will live on.
