Woodland Wellness expands to Tullahoma

Primary care practice Woodland Wellness have expanded their services and opened a new office location right on North Jackson Street.
Woodland Wellness celebrated the office expansion with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Jan. 30, with assistance from the Tullahoma Area Chamber of Commerce. Joining the Woodland Wellness team for the celebration included members of the chamber of commerce, friends, family and patients.
Woodland Wellness was founded in 2019 by co-owners Dana Talley, Practice Administrator, and Mark Vann, FNP, when they opened their first office at 115 N. Woodland St. in Manchester. Since then, Woodland Wellness has been serving Coffee County and surround areas by providing primary care services to support health and wellness.
Vann has been working in the medical field since 1988 where he’s worked as a respiratory therapist and registered nurse, and has been working as a nurse practitioner since 2009.
“We treat just about anything, and most ages also,” Vann said.
Before joining Vann in 2019, Talley had been in healthcare for 30 years, where he worked with kidney patients and dialysis machines, and said Woodland Wellness got its certification for Tullahoma in November after a year-long application process.
“Right now, we’re going through the contracting phase and accepting new patients,” Talley said. “We’re currently opened two days a week until we get a little busier.”
Talley added they were active in adding another nurse practitioner to the team, where they will expand the Tullahoma office’s hours.
When describing Woodland Wellness, Talley said they were a rural health clinic, but they were also a federal designation clinic type specifically designed to serve underserved rural counties. Talley clarified that while Coffee County was not necessarily underserved, the clinic was specifically designed to serve patients who have Medicare, Medicaid, TennCare and other government funded healthcare.
“It looks and feels like any other physician office you go into,” Talley said.
Vann added while other typical practices were trying to see just TennCare children, they were happy to see all children.
Since its founding, Vann and Talley have always wanted more offices, and Tullahoma happened to fit with their needs at the time as they were quickly approaching operational capacity in Manchester with the number of providers they have and the number of patients they see.
“We’ve enjoyed really robust growth every year,” Talley said. “A lot of the patients that we have currently in our Manchester office come from Tullahoma and Franklin County as well, so Tullahoma was a likely next step for us.”
Though Woodland Wellness’ time in Tullahoma hasn’t been long, business has been going well, as Vann noted it takes about a year or so to build a practice in a new area. He added they do want to expand more, but he wasn’t exactly sure where at the moment.
“It kind of just depends when that time comes, really, but definitely (we) want to expand more,” Vann said.
Woodland Wellness is accepting new patients. Anyone wanting to schedule an appointment can call 931-304-2989 or stop by the office at 501 N.
