City people and country folk
G
There are two kinds of people in this country we all call home. City people and Country folks.
City people usually live in larger places like Nashville or Chattanooga, while Country folks live in places like Lynchburg or Fayetteville.
City people like to drive fast, fancy cars so they don’t get run over by other people in fast, fancy cars. Seems they are always in a big hurry to get somewhere and when they do get there, they usually end up in a long line. City people like action. When they go fishing (if they ever do) they will probably fish for Bass or Trout, the glamor fish. They live in Condos or new fancy houses with all the new electronic gadgets like doorbells with a camera and burglar alarms. If they have a dog, it’s probably a Poodle or a Schnauzer. They work in offices in tall buildings where all the other employees are always on the lookout for somebody doing something wrong so they can report you to the Boss. When they take their yearly vacations they will go to Disneyworld. (Hurry up kids, we have to be at Epcot Center before 3 p.m.). What a wonderful life.
Then there are Country folks who live out in the country or were raised on a farm. Some have moved to small towns, like Lynchburg. They would like to drive a new pickup truck but most can’t afford one so they stick with their older truck as long as they can. Why hurry, the roads are seldom over crowded except on Holiday weekends when City people come to visit the Distillery. When Country folks go fishing, they catch Crappie, Bluegill or (Yummy) Catfish. That is food on the table. They live in usually older houses that they may have been born in or a house that their parents or Grandparents built. Their burglar alarm is named Old Shep, that’s him lying under the porch. Work is done mostly outdoors in the fields in corn, beans and hay. A vacation is a trip to the lake or to Nashville to the Opry.
Of course I have known a few folks that now live in the city and some City people that have moved to the country. On the other hand, there some City people that would love to move to the country and some folks do move to the city. I think if you look around, you can tell the difference between the two, People and Folks. I know I usually can.
