Franklin County Sheriff seeking assistance in construction theft

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance in investigating a theft at a Blue Creek Road construction site in Tullahoma.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded to a call at Blue Creek Road on Tuesday, March 11, where unknown suspects broke into a secured substation construction site by cutting through the fence and locks on a storage container.

The suspects stole the following:

– 500 ft. of copper wire

– 500 ft. of silver-coated copper wire

– Several boxes of brass fittings (not commonly available to the public)

“The total estimated value of stolen items is $7,500,” the sheriff’s office said. “The theft occurred between Wednesday, March 5, and Monday, March 10.”

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office asks if anyone saw suspicious activity near the substation site or have information regarding the theft, they are to contact Investigator Brian Malhoit at (931) 968-6047. All tips can remain anonymous.
