Record number of Easter eggs prepped for the hunt

Once again this year Sernobia McGee has pulled it off. McGee, Director of Admissions at Vanderbilt Harton Hospital and Tullahoma Alderman, has spearheaded community Easter egg hunts. For the third year in a row now, over 10,000 plastic Easter eggs have been stuffed with goodies for the hunt. As a matter of fact, Harton employees stuffed over 11,500 eggs, and there are a few thousand already stored at the South Jackson Performing Arts Center. The Center partners with McGee for the community event. The total should top 15,000 eggs this year.

Of course, she has had help from many egg stuffers. Many of Harton’s staff have contributed, some even grouping and competing to see who can stuff the most eggs. This year Surgical Services and PACU staff Stuffed over 4,000 eggs. Harton’s Wellness Committee joined the stuffing, and members of the Patient and Family Advisory Council pitched in to help as well.

The Easter egg hunt is scheduled for Saturday, April 19, from 1 to 3 p.m., on the grounds of the South Jackson Performing Arts Center. There are four age groups; zero to four years, five to eight years, nine to eleven years, and twelve and over. Among the prizes to be given are bicycles and a Nintendo Switch. The event is free, and open to the community.
