The Tullahoma Wildcats had their 18-game win streak snapped as they were toppled for the first time since March 10 by Central Magnet 2-0. However, the Wildcats didn’t wait long to start a new streak and exact their revenge on the boys from Murfreesboro as they traveled to Central Magnet the next day and crashed their hosts 15-0.

Tullahoma actually outhit Central Magnet in the first of the home and away series by a total of six-to-five. Tullahoma was even cleaning in the field as they were booked for no errors while their guests committed two fielding blunders. However, a two-run third was all it took to upset the defending state champions. Baylan Tuten worked the entire way on the hill, hurling 103 pitches, striking out a baker’s dozen while walking two. Tuten was also the main man at the plate, going four-for-four with a double. Xander Pogue also had a double in his one-for-two performance at the plate.

A bus ride up the road to Murfreesboro was all it took to get the streak going again as Tullahoma got three runs in the top of the first and three more in the top of the second to command the game. Five in the top of the fifth were window dressing in the revenge game that saw Tullahoma outhit their hosts 12-to-1.

Andrew Fulmer was a beast as he was a perfect four-for-four at the plate with a homerun, four RBI and four runs scored. Tuten was again a factor as he was two-for-three at the dish with three runs-scored and one RBI. Andrew Zebick was an RBI machine for the Wildcats as he knocked in five on his two-for-two day with the bat. Mason Bratcher worked all five innings on the hill, fanning five on 68 offerings.
