Lady Wildcats finish regular season 17-9

GRAY DEYOSports Writer

The 2024-2025 Lady Wildcats regular season is officially over.  They end their season with a record of 17-9, improving from their 15-11 record the year prior. They lost two of their last three games of the season, losing to Coffee County and Giles County both by a score of 3-1, but were able to finish their season strong on senior night winning 13-0 against Moore County.

Coffee County and Giles County

The Tullahoma softball team was due for a couple of low-scoring outputs, as they scored a total of two runs in their games against Giles and Coffee on April 24 and 27. The two games before these games the Lady Wildcats put up a combined total of 28 runs–15 against Blackman High School and 13 against Marion. Tullahoma also combined for 24 hits. In the two games against Coffee and Giles they had six.

The recent hitting slump for Tullahoma ended up being short-lived as they got back into form on senior night, to close out the 2025 regular season with a bang.

Moore County

In four innings the Lady Wildcats ended this game by mercy rule. They racked up a total of nine hits with five of them going for extra bases. Senior catcher Kylee Holt had two of the extra-base hits, a triple and a double, and led Tullahoma in total bases with five. Holt’s triple was a part of a third inning that saw the Lady Wildcats score a total of nine runs. Five of their nine hits were hit in this inning including another triple from Avenly Metcalf that scored in two runs.

Amaya Sharp and Metcalf were on the mound for Tullahoma and combined for a no-hitter. They struck out one batter and walked three.
