Alzheimer’s Tennessee announces online auction and yard sale

KYLE MURPHYStaff Writer

While Alzheimer’s Tennessee annual Purple Olympics has come and gone, the fundraising continues to make Alzheimer’s a memory.

According to Regional Coordinator Fran Gray, the first fundraiser coming on will be an online auction by Dan and Fran Marcum on May 17 and 24. Hanson Auction & Realty will host the event, and items up for auction will include office furniture, file cabinets and home décor from the beach. Alzheimer’s Tennessee will receive some of the proceeds from the auction. The auction can be found here.

Later in the month, Alzheimer’s Tennessee will have a yard sale on Saturday, May 31, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 217 Big Springs Ave. Anyone who wants to donate items for the yard sale are asked to come by the location on May 17 and 24 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. If assistance is needed in transporting donations, text 270-748-2659.

The goal for this year is to raise $50,300 and as of Tuesday, May 14, the campaign has raised $28,286 or just about 56% of the total campaign. Those who are interested in making a donation can go online at www.alztennessee.org/purpleolympics.
