Shelbyville teen arrested for shooting threat
A Shelbyville teen has been arrested for making a threat to shoot someone at a carnival there, one year after he was allegedly involved in a shooting at the same carnival in 2024.
According to the Shelbyville Police Department, their Criminal Investigation Division and Digital Forensic Unit made an arrest this past week in connection to an online shooting threat of the Madison Street Carnival in neighboring Bedford County.
A 17-year-old juvenile was arrested for posting the threat on Snapchat. The juvenile had been involved in the carnival shooting last year in June 2024 that sent one adult male to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Shelbyville Police Department thanked the concerned citizens who notified law enforcement of the Snapchat post.
