James Floyd “Jim” Roy and Glenda Jeanett Roy

James Floyd “Jim” Roy and Glenda Jeanett Roy, of Tullahoma, passed this life at their home within eight days of each other, Mr. Roy passing on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at the age of 89 and Mrs. Roy passing on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at the age of 82.

Mr. Roy was born in DeKalb County, Tennessee to the late Charles F. and Kathleen LaFever Roy. After graduating from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, he went on to work as a Mechanical Engineer at Arnold Engineering Development Center. Mr. Roy was also a long-time, dedicated member of First Baptist Church in Tullahoma. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Sally Joyce Roy.

Mrs. Roy was born in Chickamauga, GA to the late James and Janie Glenn Fugate. During her life she worked both as a teacher, and for United Airlines, and was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Tullahoma where she taught Sunday School for many years. They are survived by their children, Greg (Sheila) Roy, Melanie (Rob) Roy Ledford, Rinold Smithson and Eric (Amy) Smithson; and their grandchildren, Daulton Smithson, Alex Criswell, Kathleen Ledford, Charlie Ledford, Trey Ledford, Sarah Catherine Smithson, Ashley Glenn Smithson, Nate Roy, Livvie Roy, and Sydney Roy.

A graveside service celebrating the lives of both Mr. and Mrs. Roy will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Oakwood Cemetery with Dr. J. Herbert Hester officiating.

Kilgore Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
