The Planning Commission voted unanimously Monday to approve a site plan for a new Dollar Tree at 633 E. Carroll Street. The plan, submitted by BDT, LLC, had been held up for months while the developer made changes to meet stormwater and wetland rules—changes that included buying neighboring property to make the layout work. City staff said the revised plan now checks all the boxes.

This doesn’t mean a Dollar Tree is definitely coming—but it’s a strong sign. Site plan approval clears the way for the developer to apply for building permits and move forward with construction. No one spoke for or against the project, and the commission passed it without debate.
