Tullahoma City Schools has kicked off its 10^th year of summer food service with its summer meal program this week, serving breakfast and lunch to children 18 years and under.

According to the TCS Nutrition Department, meals will be served Monday and Wednesday from now until July 23. There will be one closure for the week of June 30 to July 4. The summer meal program will serve three-day meal bags on Mondays and four-day meal bags. The TCS Nutrition Department asks residents that their child must be present to receive a meal bag.

For those who can’t meet the Starvation Salvation Station (S3) food truck on its route, the TCS Nutrition Department will offer two drive-thru locations on Mondays in June to pick up a week’s worth of meals. The department added it will be first-come, first-serve and each site will have about 200 bags. Once all the bags are gone, they will be finished for the day. These drive-thru locations will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 3, 9, 16 and 23 at Jack T. Farrar Elementary School, where pickup will be at the gym door, and East Middle School, where pickup will be behind the school building.

Parents and guardians can choose either the drive-thru or the S3 food truck to pick up their children’s meal bags, but not both locations. Each child is only allowed 7 days of meals per week.

The Starvation Station (S2) will deliver premade and packaged meals to school-related summer programs, daycares, and other community camps.

The S3 food truck route will stop at the following locations:

• Franklin Place, located at 1015 S. Franklin St.
• Carver Apartments, located at 401 W. Cook St.
• Whispering Oaks, located at Whispering Oaks Circle
• Cedar Lane Village, located at Cedar Lane Village Drive
• Highland Court, located at Walker Street
• Coffee County Lannom Library, located at 312 N. Collins St.
• Ada Ferrell, located at 106 Freeman Circle
• Briarwood Apartments, located at 121 Silver St.
• Eastgate Apartments, located at 131 Silver St.
• Dossett Apartments, located at 916 E. Grizzard St.

The routes will be altered each week due to various activities occurring the city. The schedules will be posted weekly for the food truck on the TCS Nutrition Department’s Facebook page every Sunday evening with dates and times. Each route will also be posted on the department’s website at www.tcsedu.net/departments/school-nutrition/summer-meal-program.
