City and state officials recently took a trip to visit several locations in Coffee County, including the future I-24 Industrial Site.
Tullahoma officials, alongside county officials, members of the General Assembly, University of Tennessee System, University of Tennessee Space Institute, Middle Tennessee Industrial Development Association, South Central Development District, local economic developers, and members of the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TEDC) team toured the state-owned I-24 Industrial Site, the Tennessee College of Applied Technology under construction in Coffee County, and the Tullahoma Airport Business Park on Thursday, June 5.
“Partnerships like this are key to our city’s economic development efforts, and Tullahoma was grateful meeting with our county and state counterparts to hear updates and discuss some of Coffee County’s most attractive and marketable assets,” city officials said.
State Rep. Rush Bricken said that Anna Majors, the director of the Coffee County Industrial Board, and Winston Brooks, the executive director of the Tullahoma Area Economic Development Corporation, organized the tour.
“Great day with many TECD leaders attending, along with many local officials and UT, UTSI and Motlow leaders,” Bricken said in a statement. “The 1800-plus acres I-24 site is most impressive and will make a great future site for one or more big industries. I can’t wait to hear what industry(s) we land.”
