What’s the future for Bonnaroo?

Following its cancellation this month, the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival organizers have begun taking the first steps for planning for the future.
After making the decision to cancel after the first day due to weather and conditions of the grounds, organizers announced that attendees would receive refunds. Originally, the refunds provided included full refunds of all one-day tickets and parking passes, and a 75% refund for all four-day tickets and parking passes. However, officials changed course and announced on Friday, June 20, that they will instead update the refund to 100% for all tickets and parking passes.
“We want you to know that we’re still listening and actively discussing plans to improve The Farm that we love so much,” officials said on Bonnaroo’s social media pages. “Our main goal is to give you the most memorable weekend of your lives every year. This cancellation broke our hearts beyond measure, but we knew it had to happen for your safety.”
Officials added they will not be announcing future dates for the time being.
“When plans for the future take shape, you all will be the first to know.”
The Festive Owl, a media/news company that focuses music festival news, rumors, lineup announcements and so on, called the change in refund a “huge first step in mending the relationship with both new and longtime fans — and in doing right by everyone.”
Bonnaroovians didn’t have to wait too long to hear about plans for the future as festival organizers sent out a survey Monday, June 23, asking festivalgoers to give their feedback possible on different dates and frequencies for the festival.
“The first thing we want to take a look at is when Bonnaroo happens each year. How does that affect you and your experience on The Farm? Do certain times of the year make it easier or more difficult to attend? Take the survey below and let us know what you think,” the announcement said.
The survey included questions asking attendees if they would attend Bonnaroo if it was held next year and if they would attend if Bonnaroo was held every other year. The survey also asked if attendees would attend the festival if it was held later in the summer or in September/October.
“We want you to be a part of this process and will keep you posted on any and all updates and likely ask you to weigh in on other considerations in the coming months.”
