Three Tullahoma Players named to TSWA All-State team

GRAY DEYOSports Writer

In the offseason, the rewards have continued to roll in for the Tullahoma baseball team. Seniors Baylan Tuten, Mason Bratcher, and Andrew Fulmer were all named to the 3A All-State team by the Tennessee Sports Writer Association.

Baylan Tuten

Tuten lit up the stat sheet in several ways for the Wildcats in 2025. He was one of the best arms for the team on the mound, as well as one of the best bats on offense. He had the second-highest batting average on the team, at .387. He also had the second-most RBIs on the team with 29, and the second-most doubles with seven.  Here is a breakdown of some of Tuten’s best offensive performances in 2025.

On March 29 in an 11-3 win against Rocket City, Tuten showed out. He went 1-1 with two walks. He was a menace on the base pass stealing a game-high four bases and scoring a game-high four runs. On his lone hit, he got two RBIs.

Against Marshall County in a 10-9 win Tuten led his team in hits. He went 3-4 from the plate with all his hits being singles. He also had two stolen bases, two RBIs, and a walk.

On April 4 against rival Coffee County, Tuten led the Wildcats in total bases. He had two singles and a two-RBI triple in the top of the seventh to get him to a total of five bases. He tied Fulmer for the most hits in the game with three. Tullahoma won this game 14-0.

In game two of sectionals against Soddy Daisy, Tuten went 2-4. He had a game-high two runs in the 5-0 win. This win officially got Tullahoma their spot in the state tournament.

On the mound, Tuten was just as dominant as he was on offense, arguably more so. He posted the lowest ERA on the team in 2025 (including playoffs and a minimum of 10 appearances) with a 1.35 ERA. Throwing no-hitters in the regular season, and throwing shutouts in the state tournament, you name it, Tuten did it. Here are some of his best pitching performances from his senior season.

On March 17 against Columbia Central, Tuten threw a no-hitter. He pitched all seven innings and had 15 strikeouts–good for a 71.4 strikeout percentage. This was arguably the best performance from any Tullahoma pitcher over the entire season. The Wildcats won this game 6-0.

A week later on March 24, Tuten threw another solo no-hitter. Over seven innings against Franklin County, the senior allowed two walks, no hits, and had 13 strikeouts. The Wildcats won 4-0.

In game one of sectionals, Tuten got the start against Soddy Daisy. He pitched eight frames, allowing three hits and no runs. Junior Brycen Campbell hit a single in the bottom of the ninth to give Tullahoma a 2-1 walkoff win.

In the state tournament on May 22 against Anderson County he helped the Wildcats win 3-0. He pitched all seven innings, allowed one hit, and struck out twelve opposing Mavericks.

Tuten in the fall will attend Bryan University to continue his academic and baseball career.

Andrew Fulmer

The star player from the Wildcats’ platoon of talent has still yet to commit to a college. He had the highest batting average on the team (.462). He had the most home runs on the team (6), the most RBIs by a wide margin (50), and the most doubles (13). Fulmer played shortstop all season for Tullahoma, with the occasional appearance on the mound. His speed and long-limbed frame at SS allowed him to cover a ton of ground–more than the average high school player at the position. In his brief stint on the mound, he had a 0.95 ERA over seven appearances. This play he displayed earned him several other nominations and awards.

He was named district MVP and was a finalist for the Mr. Baseball award. It is unclear what the next step is for Fulmer in his career. If he wants to continue to play baseball, there is an avenue for that. At the very least he is one of the best players Tullahoma has had in the last decade.

Mason Bratcher

The senior right-handed pitcher was the ace out of all the gems in the bullpen last year for Tullahoma. He had the lowest ERA on the team at the end of the regular season. He finished the season with the second-lowest ERA on the team at 1.39 (minimum 10 appearances). Bratcher’s impressive year on the mound earned him the district pitcher of the year award.
