Retired teachers award scholarship to Bradley

The Coffee County Retired Teachers met June 17 at the Manchester Convention Center and awarded their scholarship to a local student.

The meeting was called to order by President Paul Cooley. The tables were decorated with the patriotic theme of red and white flowers.

The highlight of the day was honoring the scholarship winner. This year the money went to Manchester native Jacob Bradley. He is the son of Layne and Sarah Bradley of Manchester. He will be attending Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro and major in music education. He plans to teach music

There was an election of officers for the CCRT for 2025-27. The new president is Linda Walden, Vice President Sharon Nelius, Treasurer Michelle Cantrell, Secretary Doris Barton and Membership Betty West.

It was a delightful time of teachers reaching out to one another. The meeting was adjourned with President Walden saying a few words before dismissal.
