Downtown Lions host golf tourney

The Downtown Lion’s Club will host the 36th annual Richard-Brittain Golf Tournament Aug. 15 at the Lakewood Golf and Country Club at 1900 Country Club Road in Tullahoma with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. following registration at 7:30 a.m.

The format is a four-person scramble and field is limited to 32 teams. Cost is $540 per team or $135 per player with four Mulligans included per team. There will also be a $10,000 hole in one contest sponsored by Lester-Greene-McCord & Thomas Insurance along with door prizes, putting contest and raffle. Registration and fees should be sent to P.O. Tullahoma Downtown Lions Club has been a part of the Tullahoma community for 50 years. 

Each year they do vision screening of all schools in Tullahoma as well as day cares and home-schooled children and the club pays for eye exams/glasses as needed.       

Along with our very important vision screening program they also help others

Funds raised go to benefit others also: Parsons Scholarship, Morris Scholarship, Horse Play, LLC, Special Olympics, Honors Flight for Veterans, Alzheimer’s TN, Toys for Tots (Fire Dept), Partners for Healing Clinic, Shepherd’s House, Blue Monarch             and Coffee County Rescue Squad             

They also assist some designated Tennessee Lions facilities to help continue their programs for the blind and deaf as well as childhood cancer and cataract surgeries. TN School for the Blind, TN School for the Deaf, Leader Dog for the Blind, Pediatric Cancer Project and .Middle TN Sight Svc (surgeries).
