The city will pay $16,500 for storm water management software as required by new state regulations.

The approval of purchasing $16,500 of software from IWRQ was made at the July 28 BOMA meeting after public works revealed it is required.

Public Works Director Butch Taylor told the board that federal and state requirements for storm water management under MS4 were changing. Part of that change was a requirement to purchase software to meet their reporting needs.

However, Taylor pointed out the software will allow Public Works to work with Planning and Codes instead of cutting and pasting information and then emailing back and forth, thereby making the process smoother.
