The Tullahoma Parks and Recreation Department has announced it will be closing D.W. Wilson Community Center Tuesday, Sept. 9, to work on the parking lot.
Originally, the community center, located at 501 N. Collins St., will be closed on Sept. 5 for milling of its parking lot. However, according to Community Engagement Officer Lyle Russell, due to a delay from Rogers Group, the work on the parking lot will begin on Sept. 9.
“On the 9th, the contractor will be milling the entire surface of the lot. Vehicles will not be able to park or traverse the parking lot during this time,” Russell said. “The community center is expected to be reopened on Wednesday, Sept. 10.”
The resurfacing phase will begin on Wednesday, Sept. 10, and weather-permitting, should be completed by Thursday, Sept. 11. The community center will be open during this time; however, sections of the parking lot will be closed to vehicles as resurfacing is completed. Per Russell, the only scheduled closure day is for milling on Sept. 9.
“Please plan for delays and traffic pattern changes on Joe Moon Way and through the parking lot around D.W. Wilson, Splash Island, and usual access to Imagination Station during that time,” he said.
