Tullahoma-based Access Title is moving to a new home. Jared Hood, owner of Access Title, recently purchased what is known as “The Harton House” and is in the process of renovating the property. The property is located 300 South Jackson Street.
Hood purchased the property for $250,000 from Harton Family Partners and estimates the renovation cost to be $250,000 to $300,000. He anticipates moving from his current location, 111 S. Anderson Street, in early December.
According to Hood, “I’ve always kind of wanted to own that home and make it our office. The property offers great visibility along Jackson Street and will provide more space for our growing company.
In addition to the main office in Tullahoma, Access Title has offices in Winchester, Lewisburg, Shelbyville and McMinnville. Access Title has 13 employees.
The home is known as “The Harton House” because John and Frances Harton moved there in 1916 and raised their four children in the home. Three of the four children were born there. John Harton was a former Tullahoma mayor and Treasurer for the State of Tennessee. Mrs. Frances Harton lived in the home until her death in 1989. The home was built in 1885.
