This past week, Centerstone broke ground at 1816 North Washington St. on a new 17,000 square foot $10,000,000 campus.

Most recently the six acre site was the office for Orthopedic Surgeon Martin Fiala, MD and for many years the home of American Legion Post 43.

Centerstone is a nonprofit health system specializing in mental health and substance use disorder treatments for people of all ages. Centerstone has 140 locations across Tennessee, Florida, Illinois, Indiana and North Carolina. Centerstone of Tullahoma serves residents of Coffee County and surrounding Counties.

According to Dan Mansfield, Centerstone Regional Vice President, “The new facility became necessary due to increased demand for services and for the convenience of our patients. The new facility will combine our outpatient clinic at 1803 North Jackson St. with our office space on Davidson St.”

The new facility is expected to be completed in September of 2026.

During Centerstone’s last fiscal year, Centerstone of Tennessee served 40,902 patients. In the past three months, the two Tullahoma locations served over 1300 patients.

According to Mansfield, Centerstone of Tullahoma currently employs 35 staff. After the expansion, Centerstone will have the opportunity to employ ten additional staff.

A groundbreaking is planned for the new facility. The two current facilities will go on the market.

The expansion will provide Centerstone with multiple additional office spaces for therapists, case managers, psychiatric providers and support staff, multiple telehealth rooms and dedicated office spaces for substance use treatment providers and psychosocial/peer support services.

Services provided in Tullahoma include individual, family and group therapy for mental health care and addictions recovery; psychiatric services and medication treatment; peer wellness coaching; psychosocial education; mobile crisis and school based therapy.

Centerstone, or its predecessors, have had a presence in Tullahoma for 58 years. Originally called Multi-County Comprehensive Mental Health Center, Centerstone was formed through a combination of the Tullahoma facility and several other Middle Tennessee facilities in 1997.
