The Tullahoma girls’ soccer team took on its toughest test on Sept 16, taking on undefeated Central Magnet. The Lady Wildcats played well against Magnet, grabbing a 4-0 win. This win officially makes them the last undefeated team remaining in their district.

The Tullahoma girls’ soccer program over the last several years has been amazing, but this year, they are just flat out special. This win marks their sixth shutout win of the 2025 season out of their 9-0 undefeated record. Early on in the matchup, it seemed this result was not likely, given Magnet’s persistent attack through the first 15 minutes of the contest.

The Central Magnet girls, despite losing both matchups to Tullahoma in 2024, looked to be a team with a new outlook ready to get their get back. They were pushing the ball past Tullahoma’s stout defense and getting good results. On back to back possessions early in the game, they got shots on goals, which got the Magnet side of the bleachers fired up. Unfortunately for Magnet, Tullahoma quickly regathered, found their footing, and started to string together attacks that ended in success at the back of the net.

The Lady Wildcats took a 1-0 lead off a great split pass from sophomore Kenzie Farrell to senior McLayne Bobo. Both teams battled back and forth after the opening goal, with junior keeper Anzley Holloway making a notable one-handed save to help the ‘Cats maintain a 1-0 lead at halftime.

In the second half, the floodgates of goals opened for Tullahoma.

Within the first 10 minutes of the second half, senior Catelynn Ballard found the back of the net off a corner kick that was not cleared. This gave the Lady Wildcats confidence, as they now had a two-score lead to work with. Brindley Duncan, who scored off a penalty kick in the team’s previous matchup, showed her offensive game is extremely versatile. For Tullahoma’s third goal, Duncan rifled in a shot from long distance. Tullahoma’s ninth win of the season was capped off by another Bobo goal, for their fourth and final goal of the game.

Head coach of the Tullahoma girls’ soccer team, Richie Chadwick, noted that his backline players played at a high level all match. Both senior Lexi Chamblee and sophomore Addison Vincent did a great job at keeping their forwards in check.
