Construction has started on a state-of-art 33,000 square foot Tennessee Oncology facility on the north end of North Jackson Street. The three acre campus is Tennessee Oncology’s 39th facility in Tennessee and North Georgia.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held last Friday. The estimated completion date for the Medical Center is October 2026.

“The official groundbreaking of the Tullahoma Medical Center is more than the state of construction-it is the continuation of a mission, a vision and a legacy of compassionate care for the Tullahoma community,” said Natalie Dickson, M.D. and CEO of Tennessee Oncology. “This new facility represents a bold step forward for Tullahoma. The Center will bring together medical oncology, radiation oncology and imaging services offering patients comprehensive, coordinated cancer care in one location close to home.”

According to Dr. Dickson, “having medical oncology, radiation oncology and advanced medical imaging at the same location provides an immense benefit to patients and their families. Care is more coordinated and reduces a traveling burden on patients and families as these world class services are close to where people live and work in Tullahoma.”

When asked why locate a facility in Tullahoma, Dr. Dickson offered, “Tullahoma represents the heart of our mission-bringing world class cancer care closer to the communities that need it most. Our investment in the Tullahoma Medical Center reflects our commitment to expanding access, supporting local patients and delivering compassionate care where it matters.”

Although Tennessee Oncology has clinics in a few neighboring communities, this freestanding design will be the template for rural markets.

Five physicians will be affiliated with the Tullahoma facility including Dr. Ryan Carr, Dr. Nnamdi Eze, Dr. John Phillips, Dr. Brian Schlick and Dr. Mark Sittig.

According to permits pulled August 20 with Tullahoma Safety and Code Compliance, the building has a value of $9,373, 365.

Tennessee Oncology treats nearly half the cancer patients in Tennessee and is one of the largest community based cancer care practices in the country.

Tennessean Oncology was established in 1976 in Nashville by Dr. Stuart Spigel.

The Tennessee Oncology campus is located at 2230 North Jackson Street.
