Trump embarrassment at the U.N.
Donald Trump greatly embarrassed the United States before the entire world with his speech to the United Nations on 23 September. It consisted primarily of sheer nonsense. The majority of what he said was simple lies and/or huge distortions of what truth he did address.
He has not ended seven wars and has not eliminated inflation (now greater than during Biden’s last year in office and grocery prices have increased faster). He rambled on for over an hour violating the accepted norms for national leaders while boasting of poll numbers and rambling about his own grievances, including a totally unrelated contract he apparently did not win quite a few years prior.
As is typical he ignored established science on climate change (just as he does for vaccines) and accused our allies and the U.N. as a whole of causing our immigration problems. He claimed the U.N failed to offer any help for his “war solving” effort. Finally, he even stooped to complaining that the U.N. was responsible for a “bad” elevator and a “bad” teleprompter! Evidence now indicates that members of his staff were responsible for both occurrences.
His behavior on the world stage, to put it simply, was disgusting.
How long will we allow this type of behavior to continue unchallenged? When will we again act like we deserve respect in the global community?
