At the recent American Public Gas Association annual meeting, Elk River Public Utility District was recognized by the Association for excellence in operating it’s natural gas utility. The meeting was held in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Out of the 750 national Association members, only 16 were recognized with the System Operational Achievement Recognition (SOAR) Award.

The selection was based on demonstrated excellence in system integrity, system improvement, employee safety and workforce development.

ERPUD General Manager Matthew Hulvey commented, “Makes me proud of our folks when you compare us on a national scale that we’re at the top.”

Association President Dave Schryver said “Elk River Public Utility District was highly rated in all four areas required of SOAR. They consistently demonstrate a commitment to providing natural gas safely and efficiently to all those in their community and serves as a model for all other natural gas utilities in the country.”

ERPUD has locations in Tullahoma, Manchester and Winchester.

To commemorate the Utilities 70th Anniversary, ERPUD is hosting their annual Customer Appreciation Day Friday, October 17 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Tullahoma location. On the menu will be barbecue and sides. Festivities include games and door prizes including a tankless water heater.
