Welcome to the Hotel Tullahoma City has many places to stay

With the completion of the LivSmart Studios by Hilton and the soon-to-be completed TownPlace Suites by Marriott, that will bring the number of hotel rooms in Tullahoma to 518.  Each of the new properties will add 89 rooms.

“The addition of LivSmart Studios by Hilton and the TownPlace Suites by Marriott represent a major win for Tullahoma,” said Beverly Lee, Chair of the Tullahoma Area Economic Development Council.   “Those brands chose Tullahoma because of the steady demand generated by our vibrant business community.  Coupled with the significant increase in construction activity, both new facilities and the refurbishment of existing ones, there is a strong, sustained need for quality lodging to serve business travelers and project teams.  These new hotels will also strengthen Tullahoma’s position as a destination for tourism, sports, and the arts.  The hotel/motel tax generated from these properties is vital to the economic development of our city.”

The lodging tax rate in Tullahoma is 5%.  For the past three fiscal years the lodging tax has brought the city government coffers $330,269 (FY 2025), $344,949 (FY 2024), and $358,688 (FY 2023).  The estimate for FY 2026 is $403,357, an increase of 22% over FY 2025.

According to City Administrator Jason Quick, “As the numbers have shown, the City of Tullahoma remains a regional destination for both business travelers and tourists seeking overnight accommodations.  We are pleased to see nationally-recognized chains such as Hilton, Marriott and Holiday Inn placing hotel concepts in our city.  The two most recent additions will help grow hotel/motel tax collections and provide the city with much needed funding to continue our expanding tourism and marketing efforts.”

Hope Nunley, Tullahoma Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, added, “Beyond tourism, the ripple effect of new hotels is felt throughout the community, from local restaurants and shops, to entertainment venues and attractions, an increase in overnight visitors means more dollars circulating in Tullahoma’s economy.”

The Director of the South Central Tennessee Tourism Association, Ryan French, added an interesting perspective, “Lodging plays one of the most critical roles in tourism retention and overall visitor spending and the data makes it crystal clear.  According to tourism economics, an overnight visitor in Tennessee spends an average $329 per day, compared the $115 per day spent by a day-tripper.  Every overnight we win is not just another room filled, it is another full day of spending, another boost to our tax base and another step toward keeping the economic benefits of tourism right here at home.”
