Citizens Tri County Bank trumpets honor students

L

At least thirty years ago, Brac Thoma, President of First National Bank in Tullahoma, wanted to recognize in some way the honor students in Tullahoma’s four elementary schools and two middle schools.

His solution: Honor Roll Bumper Stickers.

Since that time some thirty years ago, hundreds if not thousands, of parents have recognized their children’s achievements by proudly displaying the Honor Roll stickers on their cars’ bumpers.

The Honor Roll stickers are made available to deserving students at the end of every grading period.

According to Mr. Thoma, “The Honor Roll bumper stickers give parents a way to recognize their children’s achievements in this special way.”

When Citizens Tri County Bank acquired First National Bank they kept the tradition going.

Rhonda Stevens, East Lincoln Elementary School Principal agrees, “The Honor Roll bumper sticker is a public affirmation of the hard work and commitment of our East Lincoln Eagles. In addition, it is a point of pride for our families; an inspiration to peers; and a symbol of community spirit. Lastly, it serves as a visible reminder that excellence is something to be celebrated! We are so grateful for the support of our community members who sponsor the Honor Roll bumper stickers for our Eagles.”

Lana Bradford, Citizens Tri County Bank Vice President and Tullahoma Branch Manager said, “Citizens Tri County Bank are honored to sponsor the Honor Roll bumper stickers for 25 plus years. We are so proud of the efforts these students put forth in their studies. Our employee team is very proud of each and every student.”

East Lincoln School typically distributes about 200 Honor Roll bumper stickers to deserving students each year. All four elementary schools and two middle schools distribute the stickers.

No doubt the stickers have also made their way to bulletin boards and refrigerator doors in homes all over Tullahoma over the years.
